ON A PERSONAL NOTE:
What I love most in the world are big hugs from my kiddos, walks to the farmer’s market, picnics in the sun, Ina Garten cookbooks, and certainly not least of all, a strong cup of coffee.
For nearly 15 years, I have been a story catcher. As an advocate and coach, my work has been a blend of witnessing and supporting as people explore their own stories of connection to violence. It’s been humbling, life altering and inspiring. When I look at my son and daughter today I know that as sacred as story catching is to me, it’s not enough. I need a world where there are fewer stories like the ones I’ve come to hear. Knowing we can change the course is what drives me the most in my work. In addition to believing wholeheartedly in Green Dot etc., I’m equally passionate about practices of self-caring, especially ways it can look within our field. And when the violence finally ends and I’m out of a job, you’ll find me traveling cross-country in a silver Airstream trailer, exploring and woohoo-ing with family and friends!

At Green Dot, etcetera, our work goes beyond the Green Dot program itself. As leaders in violence prevention, we provide training, technical assistance, and program development for individuals, schools, and organizations both domestically and internationally as they work to foster safe communities. We are proud to be a technical assistance provider for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women Campus Program. To learn more about that initiative, please visit our OVW Technical Assistance section.
